Eight major abnormal phenomena in flotation machine flotation

1. Poor flotation effect and high tailing loss

This situation may be caused by the substandard grinding fineness of the materials in the flotation machine or an issue with the dosage of flotation reagents. If the grinding fineness cannot meet the target, it should be appropriately increased, and can be treated by increasing the number of grinding sections or stage grinding.

If there is a problem with the dosage of flotation reagents, experiments should be conducted to determine the dosage and indicators of flotation reagents again. For example, a certain Copper(II) oxide cobalt ore in Congo, the main copper bearing mineral is Malachite, and the cobalt mineral is water cobalt ore. In order to improve the flotation effect, after the test, Sodium hydrosulfide and ammonia sulfide are mixed in a ratio of 1 to 1 to improve the flotation effect.

2. The flotation cell has large foam and reflective surface

When a large foam appears in the flotation cell and the surface reflects light, the possible reason is that too much flotation reagent is added. At this time, the operator should properly adjust the amount of flotation reagent and observe whether the flotation foam condition has improved.

3. High liquid level in a single flotation cell

The reason for the high liquid level fault in a single flotation cell may be due to blockage in the suction tube, which requires the operator to stop and clean the suction tube.

4. The scraper scrapes out foam with a large amount of slurry, and the foam layer is thin and fragile

There are four possible reasons for this situation: first, the overflow concentration is too thin; second, the position of the liquid level regulating plate is too high; third, the slurry overflow concentration is too thick, which can also lead to coarse running and serious sand settling; fourth, the amount of inhibitors and regulators is too large, which can not produce an appropriate amount of foam. When this situation occurs, the operator should first observe the situation, control the concentration and fineness of the slurry, and pay attention to controlling the amount of adjusting agents and inhibitors.

5. Local liquid level flipping

The phenomenon that the liquid level of the tank body turns over indicates that the pulp foam layer is unstable, which may be caused by the uneven installation of the cover plate, leading to uneven gaps. The larger the gap is, the smaller the gap is. The larger the gap is, the larger the gap will be. It is also possible that the stator may fall off, causing incomplete slurry to flow unevenly at the bottom. The last possibility is that the pipe joint is loose. These three situations are all caused by flotation machine failures and require the operator to promptly notify the machine repair team for handling.

6. Slurry level drop

The possible reasons for the phenomenon of slurry liquid level falling include coarse grinding fineness, increased processing capacity, or insufficient dosage of reagents. Operators can solve the problem by adjusting the grinding classification, reducing the ore feeding amount, or adjusting the dosage of reagents appropriately.

7. The ore in the foam tank is accumulating more and more

Generally speaking, there are several reasons for this situation: excessive ore feeding, excessive inflation, blockage at the intermediate tank and liquid level adjustment plate, insufficient suction capacity of the suction tank, and low flushing water pressure. In these situations, clogging of the liquid level regulating plate is the most likely cause of sand settling. The liquid level regulating plate should be lowered to the lowest level first, the blockage should be cleared, and if necessary, the underflow valve can be opened to allow the slurry to flow. The inflation rate and acid pipeline should be checked for blockage. At the same time, the feeding rate and overflow concentration should be explored, and the cause should be identified in a timely manner. The feeding rate or other factors should be adjusted according to the cause.

8. There is no slurry in the tail end DC slot, and the scraper scrapes the slurry severely, resulting in coarse overflow fineness

When this phenomenon occurs, the operator should first stop the mine, then open the bottom flow valve of the tank, and wait for the slurry flow to return to normal before feeding and blocking the bottom flow valve. At the same time, attention should be paid to controlling the concentration and fineness of the slurry.
