Engineered Dust Control for Mining & Bulk Material Handling
Mining, crushing, screening and bulk material handling can generate significant amounts of airborne dust at transfer points, crushers, conveyors, stockpiles and loading areas. An effective Mining Dust Suppression System needs to control dust at its source while avoiding excessive water addition, material carryback and unnecessary maintenance.
HUATAO provides customized Mining Spray Systems designed for dust prevention and airborne dust suppression in demanding mining and mineral processing environments. Depending on the application, the system can be configured with spray nozzles, spray bars, headers, piping, filters, valves, pumps and automatic controls to deliver targeted water or atomized mist exactly where dust is generated.
Rather than using the same spray configuration for every application, we select the spray pattern, droplet size, flow rate, pressure and nozzle arrangement according to the material, process conditions and installation environment.

For transfer points and conveyors, spray placement is especially important. Sprays should be directed toward the material or dust source rather than unnecessarily wetting the belt or surrounding equipment. Excessive water can contribute to carryback, chute blockage or increased material moisture, while insufficient moisture may leave airborne dust uncontrolled.

Dust Suppression Nozzles
Mining Dust Suppression Nozzles are selected according to required flow rate, spray angle, pattern, pressure and droplet characteristics. Flat fan, hollow cone and other spray patterns can be considered according to whether the objective is material wetting, dust capture or localized suppression.
Spray Bars & Headers
Multiple nozzles can be mounted on a customized spray bar or spray header to provide consistent coverage across conveyors, crushers, screens, hoppers and transfer points. The structure can be adapted to the available mounting space and process layout.
Atomized Water Mist
For airborne fine dust, an atomized water mist system can generate smaller droplets designed to interact with suspended dust particles. Droplet size should be matched to the dust characteristics to improve capture while limiting unnecessary water consumption.
High-Pressure Water Mist
Where finer atomization and controlled spray coverage are required, a high-pressure water mist configuration can be considered. Pump selection, nozzle orifice, operating pressure and water quality must be evaluated together during system design.
Dry Fog Dust Suppression
For selected crushing, screening and material-transfer applications, Dry Fog Dust Suppression Systems can be considered where very fine droplets and targeted dust capture are required. The final configuration depends on dust characteristics, plant layout and available utilities.
Automatic Spray Control
For plants requiring automated operation, the system can incorporate control valves, sensors, timers or PLC-based controls. Spraying can be synchronized with conveyors, crushers or material flow to reduce unnecessary water consumption and improve operating consistency.

For conveyor and transfer-point applications, the spray arrangement can be designed to add controlled moisture to the material before or around the dust-generating point. Where non-potable or recycled water is used, filtration and nozzle selection should be considered carefully to reduce the risk of nozzle blockage and maintain consistent spray performance.
