Antifoam is a specialized chemical additive used in pulp mills to control foam during kraft pulping, evaporation, and recovery processes. They combat foam caused by lignin, soaps, and alkali in high-temperature (100-130°C), high-pH (12-14) conditions.
Defoaming Agent is an efficient and well-dispersed antifoam composed of additives that specialize in pulping black liquor in the pulp and paper industry. It is featured with high temperature and strong alkali resistance, rapid defoaming, and long-lasting foam suppression. Besides, there is less floating oil during usage.

Unlike oxidative agents (e.g., hydrogen peroxide), FAS works by reducing chromophores, gently removing color without damaging fibers. It operates effectively in neutral to slightly alkaline conditions (pH 6–9) and is often used in the final bleaching stage for deinked recycled pulp or high-yield mechanical pulps.
